How you can help the Shetland Branch

Membership

  • Membership of the Shetland Branch of Cats Protection costs just £5.00 per year.
  • Membership entitles you to a 10% discount on some veterinary treatment and on boarding fees at Gott Cats.
  • All funds raised through membership and events stay in Shetland to support our work.
  • Being a member doesn't mean you have to be a volunteer as well - unless you want to, of course.

If you would like to become a member, please download and print out a membership form and return by post.

Sponsorship

  • Become a Cat Bed Sponsor to help with food and accommodation costs and vets bills.
  • Sponsorship costs as little as £3 a month. If you are able to give more, this would be even more beneficial.*
  • Payment can be made by direct debit, cheque or cash, on a monthly or annual basis. However, you can also make payments intermittently, if you prefer.
  • In return, we'll keep you informed of the progress of the cats in the shelter and how your contribution is helping them.

* It costs around £2 a day to keep each cat and that doesn't include the cost of veterinary expenses. Multiply this by the number of cats we have in our care and you will see why we need financial support.

If you wish to become a sponsor, please download and print out a sponsorship form and return by post.
Your generosity will be much appreciated.

Fostering

  • Fosterers are a vital part of our work, giving temporary shelter to young cats and kittens and caring for them in the first few weeks of their lives.
  • Fostering is hard work but endlessly rewarding, especially when you see the kitten you've cared for transformed into a confident, friendly, playful young cat.
  • The Shetland Branch will provide you with kitten pens, food and litter. We also cover veterinary costs. And we'll give you as much help and support as you need.

Do you think you have what it takes to be a fosterer?
If so, please contact us.

Volunteers

  • We are always looking for volunteers to help us with our fundraising events.
  • Volunteers can help us in many ways, including:
    • Baking for fundraising events
    • Helping with transport
    • Helping on sales stalls
    • Helping us with cat welfare matters.
  • How much you do is entirely up to you.

Could you spare a little of your time?
If you can help us in any way, please contact us.

Donations

Alternatively, you can help us by simply making a one-off donation, however small.

If you would like to make a donation, please download and print out a donation form and send, with an accompanying cheque payable to Cats Protection Shetland, to the address given on the About Us page.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
